Connect your iOS device to your mac, then open Finder, check the Locations sections on the left and find your iOS device there, click on it to see the details. Once everyting is copied to thet device open the app, go to the Import section, and the USB import method tap the Import button to complete the process.įor macos users starting on Catalina, File Sharing is embedded in Finder. If you are using iTunes, connect your iOS device to your computer and open iTunes, then click on the device icon and you will see the above screen, then go to File Sharing (check the column on the left), you will see a list with all the apps supporting File Sharing, look for YACReader and click it on the list, now you can drop files or folders on the right side of the screen, if you drop folders containing other folders and comics YACReader will keep that folder structure after importing them. IOS apps have a dedicated documents folder that can be accessed using iTunes or macos Finder (starting with Catalina).
The problem, if I recall this right, was that the sorted columns were no longer mapped correctly to the YACReader database so the library kept crashing on me. It was more difficult than I expected and I eventually gave up and tackled lower hanging fruits. Column sorting was among the first things I wanted to implement.Help is always appreciated, even if we do not respond right away. This is all for now, although I may add some later as I think of them :-) I realize this could bring a serious performance problem on large libraries, so I'm not sure how it should be approached. Add an "All Comics" view - at the moment it's only possible to view the contents of a single folder at a time.It would be nice to be able to reorder them. Allow reordering of pages inside a comicbook - sometimes the images inside the cbr/cbz file are not in the right order.Improve filesystem integration and maybe give the option for YAClibrary to automatically organize files and folders (similar to how Itunes does it) - i.e., automatically organize comic files in folders by series, for instance. They have a really good automatic tagger (also based on comicvine), unfortunately it can only save tags in ComicRack format so it's not usable with YACreader (subject to discussion) somehow integrate with.
It would be nice, I think, to store tags directly in the cbr/cbz archive - even better in a way that is compatible with ComicRack format. Improve how tags are stored - at the moment, everything is stored in a database (I think?).Improve comicvine integration - unless I'm doing something wrong, at the moment the search is broken and finds a huge amounts of irrelevant comics.Allow choosing which columns to display in the list view (with a dropdown that allows you to select the fields you want to see).Allow renaming folders from within the library (rather than having to do it from the file system).Dependent on the above: Allow navigation by clicking on tags in grid view (so for instance, if I click on an author name I see all comics by that author). This is most likely the hardest thing on the list but it would be really neat. Add advanced filtering options (find comics by writer, title, characters, etc.).Add the possibility to sort a library folder by clicking on a column header in the list view.that don't need major redesigns of the whole platform and/or extensive knowledge of the codebase), I would be happy to get my hands dirty! If some of you folks could suggest which ones would be the easiest to start working on for a newcomer (i.e. I'm going to write a small list of features that I would like to see implemented. I'd like to get involved in YACreader a bit, but have very little experience in C++ and QT programming.
